Bed Bugs

Adult bed bugs are 4-5 mm long, rusty reddish-brown coloured, wingless and oval-shaped. They have piercing and sucking mouth parts that they use to feed on the blood of their host (often humans). The presence of bed bugs is often detected by the irritation caused to sleepers when the bedbugs bite and feed. Bed bugs usually shelter in dark locations in close proximity to where people sleep. This can include cracks and crevices in bed frames, seams of mattresses, behind skirting boards and architraves, behind wallpaper, between floorboards and under carpet. Bed bugs most commonly feed on their host at night in the few hours just before dawn. Bed bugs are transported from place to place by humans in luggage, second-hand furniture, mattresses, clothing, etc. They can also crawl into adjacent rooms, apartments and houses.

Control of Bed Bugs is best achieved through a variety of different approaches including Bed Bug Mattress & Base Protectors, insecticide sprays & dusts, as well as other non-chemical approaches such as Bed Bug traps & detectors and steamers.
