Delforce Insecticide is ideal for indoor and outdoor control and can be used in Hand Sprayers, Knapsack Sprayers, Backpack Sprayers, Garden Sprayers & Pressure Sprayers. (See our Sprayers category for the full range)
Apply Delforce to potential bed bug harbourages such as timber flooring, skirting boards, carpet, rugs, carpet edges, bedside furniture, etc. Apply as a fine mist and do not exceed the point of runoff. Delforce can also be used on the bed frame / base. Again apply to potential bed bug harbourages such as ends of timber slats, joins in timber framework, bed legs, headboard, labels, stitching, wheel / castors, etc. Do not spray directly onto mattress or bedding.
Treat and kill Bed Bugs and their eggs instantly! Steam mattresses, furniture, floors, baseboards, cracks and crevices, etc. to kill bed bugs and their eggs. Multiple accessories make this the most dynamic bed bug steamer in Australia.
Using a bed bug steamer to kill bed bugs and get rid of bed bugs in your home is environmentally safe and highly effective. Bed bugs cannot tolerate heat, and a bed bug steamer will kill bed bugs on contact. Even better, steam can penetrate into hard to reach areas and through the cloth wrappers of mattresses and box springs to kill bed bugs hiding inside as well. This Bed Bug Steamer is safe to use on mattresses, furniture, the edges of carpet and beds with wooden slates.
Multiple attachments as well as a handy extension spout enables to get into very tricky and tight locations.
Step 1:Conduct a thorough inspection of the mattress focusing on seams, buttons, zips and labels. Also check the bed frame or ensemble base focusing on cracks and crevices, bed legs, joins between timber slats, bed heads, etc. Bed bugs may also be found in bedside furniture, picture frames, walls, electrical sockets, carpet edges, curtains, etc. Look for live insects, skin casts, eggs and 'spotting'. Spotting is the faecal traces (i.e. digested blood) of bed bugs. It is most commonly seen as a series of black spots 0.5mm - 1mm in diameter.
Step 2:Once you have identified that you have bed bugs it is recommended that you carry out a thorough vacuum of all the areas identified above. This will remove live bed bugs and their eggs from these areas. Make sure you dispose of the contents of the vacuum cleaner immediately to prevent spreading the infestation to other areas.
Step 3: Bed Bug Steamer - Use the steamer to treat affected areas or suspected bed bug harbourages on the mattress, bed base, bed side furniture, carpet edges, timber flooring, walls, etc.
Step 4: Bedlam - Treat affected areas using the Bedlam aerosol. Again focus on areas where you have seen live insects, eggs, skin casts and spotting. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices.
Step 5: Now you can apply the Protect-Us Insecticidal Dust powder as a light dusting. As above, apply Protect-Us Insecticidal Dust to all the same areas where bed bug activity has been seen. You can also apply the Protect-Us Insecticidal Dust as a preventative treatment by dusting around carpet edges, around the base of bed legs, etc. Do not apply directly to mattress or bedding.
Step 6: Placing the monitors. Place one monitor at each corner of the bed between mattress and base. Check the monitors for bed bug activity every few days. If you see bed bugs in the monitor then more treatment may be necessary.
Step 7: Delforce Residual Insecticide - The Delforce Residual Insecticide comes as a concentrate that needs to be diluted with water in a hand sprayer. For the initial treatment mix 150ml of Delforce with 5 litres of water. Apply as a surface spray (not exceeding the point of run-off) to flooring, around bed legs, carpet edges, skirting boards. Do not spray directly on mattress or bedding.
Step 8: Finally, we highly suggest you consider mattress and base protectors to complete the treatment. What these do is capture any bed bugs that may still be infesting the mattress or base and prevent them from escaping and biting you or your guests. They also protect against future infestation by removing potential harbourages that new bed bugs may seek out. As a result you can essentially isolate the mattress and base therefore rule out any chance of these being the source of the problem. Also mattress and base protectors are a much cheaper alternative to throwing out your existing bed and replacing with a brand new one!!
